Why use a split times chart?
Whether you are preparing for a 10k, a half marathon, or a full marathon, knowing your split times is crucial for reaching your goal without hitting the wall. This tool generates a personalized mile-by-mile or km-by-km roadmap. It's the perfect complement to planning your training paces during your preparation.
What is a Negative Split?
A "negative split" is a racing strategy that consists of running the second half of the race slightly faster than the first. It is the strategy adopted by the majority of elite runners to break records, as it prevents premature depletion of glycogen stores and limits muscle fatigue accumulated early in the course. Saving energy also delays your shift into the anaerobic zone.
How to use the Pace Band?
Once your times are generated, you can print them. Many runners cut out the table, laminate it (with clear tape), and attach it around their wrist. During the race, you simply compare your watch time at each kilometer marker with the times on the wristband.
